After a brief stint at Michigan State University, followed by a failed attempt at a construction worker, I moved to Savannah, Georgia and attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2000. I graduated cum laude (3.5 GPA) three years later with a B.F.A. in Computer Art.
Following undergrad, I moved to Dallas to continue my education. In 2008, I graduated from Dallas Seminary with a M.A. in Media and Communications (3.42 GPA). While attending graduate school I began working in the non-profit video production/advertising sector. I started in 2003 as the Lead Video Editor at Dallas Seminary and by 2010 was promoted to oversee the whole department as Director of Media Production. In 2021, I was promoted to Executive Director and I oversee about a dozen people, a $600K budget, over a dozen live events per week while creating ~30 hours of content, and over 650TB of data!
In 2017 I decided I wanted to study social constructions as a means of investigating the question “what does it mean to be human.” I went back to school to get my doctorate from Southern Methodist University. In 2023 I finished my doctorate summa cum laude (4.0 GPA) and graduated with distinction. My research focuses on the epistemology of ignorance and how that supports racial and gender inequality in our post-Civil Rights era.
